History of Chatterbox Nursery

“Chatterbox Nursery was first established 34 years ago (1983) and was run in my home with just 3 members of staff.

Old Nursery 1Over the years the Nursery has steadily grown both in popularity and size.

The group moved from being a “home based group” to operating in a local church hall to cope with the growing demand.  In 2010  we lost the lease.

Chatterbox searched for suitable premises that would enable the Nursery to continue and provide an environment where staff could continue to give outstanding care for children in the area. Luckily we were offered great support from both current and past parents Old Nursery 2who were eager to secure the future of the group.

Darren Lamb, who owned the popular soft play centre, JJ’s, in Basingstoke, offered the Nursery facilities at the centre. He had had his own son at the Nursery and was keen that other children , in the future , share his own son’s experience’s. Lorraine knew this offer would not only secure the groups future but enhance its future provision dramatically,  enabling the group to expand its services.
Chatterbox Nursery and JJ’s Play has now become JJ’s Chatterbox Nursery.

The new premises enable staff to offer children an exceptionally stimulating environment. A place where children can play safely, explore and investigate, extending their confidence, learning and development in exciting  indoor and outdoor environments.
We aim to offer a sound learning platform for children aged 0- 5 years that will encompass the whole of the Early Years Foundation Stage in an environment that will stimulate a desire to learn about the world around them .
We are open all year , for longer days ( 8am -6pm) to enable us to support more parents. We offer extremely flexible start and finish times and also support parents who work on weekly rotas.
This is the next and most exciting chapter of this Nursery so far and we look forward to the continued success of the group .”
